Harpers Transportation Network The Marshall at Mirabar recommended that the crew visit the underground dwarven city to experience local flavour.  The crew went to one of the secondary entrances which took them to a well, some 30’ across with a stone staircase that spiralled into the depths. Warm, dry air wafted upward.  The stairs descended 100’ and opened onto a large thoroughfare busy with dwarves and other races walking to and fro. Building facades carved out of stone rose 40 to 50’. Homes, storefronts, inns and eateries all line this main artery called Mine Street.  Following the marshals directions, they ducked into side streets, some no more that 5’ wide that took them eastward and toward their destination, the Deerbarrel Inn, the sign obviously designed by a small child or a deranged adult. Rooms secured, they headed to an ale hall.  Note on currency : 1 giant head = 2 giant ears. Back through the alleyways to the ———-.   A long room filled wit...

Session 10 - April 8, 2018

At Xantharl’s Keep, the good times, they keep on coming.  Yet another giant with delusions of grandeur.  A group of goblins and ogre’s with ‘goblin chuckers’ led by a frost giant launched an attack on the front gate.  Goblins wearing spiked helms were launched via shoulder-mounted trebuchets into the wall and into the village.  One hit (Skithryx) doing damage, both physical and emotional.  Narbeck asked them to patrol the western wall.   The party heard shouts and sword play from the stable, found a contingent of bugbears fighting a cornered Weevil.  “Who are you?”, he asked.  “We are your saviors” was Magdiana’s reply.  Skithryx got a lot of use from his “Hunger of Hagar” spell.  Ronan watched from a safe distance while Magg’s and Chamele battled a bugbear and some bad luck.  He finally fell.  “Hey, we got one!” The weevil was rescued only to be apprehended by the crew.  The frost giant abandoned the attack once he lear...

Session 9 - April 1 - 2018

Hello Luskan.  A black fog and smoke covered city.  Four dead frost giants and a burning great ship rested in the harbor.  The city was full of tales of the giant’s attack on the harbor, and the mysterious wizards who emerged from their ghastly tower and battled the fire giants, setting their longship ablaze.  Rather curious about the tower and the northern part of the city the crew found both areas watched by city guards and thought it best not to be too curious.  Ronan had a run of good luck at the card table.  The overall impression of Luskan being damp and dingy, our adventurers left for Mirabar the next day. On their way to Mirabar they passed a party of 5 men escorting a wagon going west.  There were a few moments when a fight seemed imminent but without knowing what they were about to fight for, cooler heads prevailed. On arrival at Mirabar, they promptly found Zazspar Bronzefire at the stables and learned of the secret teleportation device. ...

Session 8 - Mar 4, 2018

The Crew takes the wounded Beldora the rest of the way to Fireshear and to the repair shop where Thwip Ironbottom works and resides.  Thwip was very relieved to see Beldora safe.  He had been trying to contact her via their sending stones and with no response, began to fear the worst.  Beldora related the attack of the Frost giants, the demands that the Giants made and how she was wounded in the attack.  She awoke in the central square of the town amongst the other injured and dead.  She managed to slip away and left the city to get word of the giant attack to Thwip in Fireshear. Beldora introduced the party to Thwip and he invited them into the back room.  A long conversation followed.  Here are the highlights: Both Thwip and Beldora work for the harpers. The Harpers are a clandestine network of individuals throughout Faerun working to protect those who cannot help themselves. The Harpers rarely work overtly preferr...

Session 7 - Mar 3, 2018

Went to the House of the Triad, the pastor is no help but offers to wrap up Magdiana, burrito-style, for possible transport.  The went to the central square to find the duplicitous speaker of the house.  She thanked the crew for their efforts at the gate and offered condolences for their fallen friend.  She gave the crew a 500gp diamond for the purpose of a 'raise-the-dead' spell and 4 potions of healing from her personal inventory.  they thanked her and went for a nap for 8hrs.  8pm rolled around and they left town looking for the mad cleric of the mountain. The left after dark at 8pm-ish and walked for the rest of the night.  They halted at 4am and camped at the side of the road.  After 8hrs sleep, the left at noon to head off the road in search of Cedric's House of the Merciful Sinner.  Cedric was quite willing to attempt the raise dead spell.  For a fee of 30 gp.  The crew was a little suspicious of the low, low price that was req...

Session 6 - Feb 18, 2018

What a terrible day.  The giants weren’t even willing to talk.  The leader blew her horn and a terrible attack began.  Boulders were  thrown over the wall into the city, as if they just wanted to cause fear and panic more than anything.  The leader didn’t seem to waver the entire time she attacked the south-west gate.  She was peppered with arrows and wounds, burnt by magical fire but this only made her more determined to succeed at her mission.  With a single incredible blow, the gate was forced open and her winter wolves burst through the gate with lightening speed.  The city guards launched a volley of spears but turned and ran away from the wolves.  Having gained access to the city, the Giantess was determined to see this through.  The hero’s of the day, visitors to the city of Bryn Shander, stood toe-to-toe with their foes.   The giant's and the winters wolves towered over them, but they were undeterred.   Concentrating...

Session 5 - Feb 11, 2018

Morning, 25th of Ches, 1492 DR Zephros explained the shattering of the Ordning , the hierarchy of giant-kind and that King Hekaton is missing. Zephros could well be a powerful magic user as Skithrix heard Zephros casting high-level spells related to communicating with other planes. Late Morning, 27 of Ches, 1492 DR Day 3 brought visitors to the cloud giants tower; 9 giant vultures carrying cultists landed at the base of the tower in front of the main door They demanded to speak with the master of the tower.  The intimidating Skithrix did not deter them for long, however, as they returned later that day and refused to leave, storming past Skithrix to enter the tower.  A battle ensued.  Skithrix called down an impenetrable  blackness upon them, while Chamele, tiny of body but stout of heart, grappled the taller fanatic to the ground, keeping him quite helpless.  Needless to say, our motley crew prevai...
